This picture was taken of my Mom and her girl friends when she attended Pomona College in California. I love the dresses, and catch those shoes too. My Mom is the one in the dark skirt, I guess she had on her conservative look. She was about nineteen years old in this photo.
P.S. What are those girls doing with their feet? Too funny, the end ones point out and the middle girls select the pigeon-toed poise.

I always wonder about poses in old photos. Were they recreating something they saw in a silent movie? Or something that was a fad of sorts? I have a bunch of old photos of various people and one guy is placing his fingers on someone's head in a strange way, and did it in every photo.

ReplyDeleteI think Casey is correct in thinking there is a story about the feet. If I could only find a scrape of paper that read, "Today the girls and I did the silliest thing when we had our picture taken..."
TODAY THE KIDS STICK THEIR TONGUE OUT IN ALL THEIR PICTURES. THERE'S GOT TO BE A STORY THERE ALSO. I JUST DON'T WANT TO KNOW.
