Mo. nuclear reactor closes next week for refueling

FULTON, Mo. (AP) — The Callaway Energy Center nuclear reactor will close next week for normal refueling work that is not related to an accident near the plant that injured four people, company officials said.
Four contract workers were injured in a switchyard about 300 yards from the plant Tuesday during what Ameren Missouri called an "electrical flash." Ameren had reported three workers were injured but company officials said Thursday a fourth person was hurt while trying to help the other three. The company declined to release information on the workers' conditions.
The four were contract workers hired by Ameren from Chicago Bridge & Iron, The Jefferson City News-Tribune reported (http://bit.ly/12nO6DM ).
Ameren Missouri officials said the accident did not affect the nuclear reactor's operation.
