Evidence is in the eye of the beholder. It can be manufactured, imagined, molded and managed. But to ask Congress is as close as we the people get to having our voice heard. At least Congress will get to look over the evidence and vote and decide the direction the United States should take. That, in my mind is not a bad idea.
What disturbs me is the United Nations. Really what are they there for if not to be the great settler of nations disputes and righting the wrongs of humanity. Can they not see the wrong in a leader of a country willingly killing its own people. Not even in a swift and final manner like putting a bullet through the head, but rather a slow and agonizing death that comes with the use of chemical weapons.
It must bring the leader of such a nation great pleasure to switch on the television and watch his people, his children gasping for breath and and fighting for life.

to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small...
The UN's refusal not to take action in the case of Syria makes a farce of these few words cited here. The United States alone should not be the protector of the world, despite the fact that the US more than enjoys this role
Unless and until we, all of us, decide that the bullies and the terrorists of this world will not be tolerated. Until that time we stand as impotent individuals and pounding other humans into the ground in retaliation isn't the answer.
Find the answer, we've had a lot of practice in deposing mad men, but apparently thumping them with weaponry isn't a permanent fix.
Well said. It's like China and Russia are UN members just so they can put the kibosh on sensible stuff. I see everything they do at the UN as a fear of toppling dictators, lest they be toppled themselves. The world is such a mess right now, but doing "the right thing" is politically incorrect for various countries. It amazes me that the world is less unified this century than last. That wasn't in the plan.
