Day Two, First Sunrise

Being a west coast girl I will never get used to seeing the sun rising over the water. But I didn’t want to miss it this morning so I woke early and threw the curtains open and waited eagerly to see this orange ball rise up from the sea.

I had a wonderful breakfast delivered to my stateroom and woofed it down like I hadn’t eaten in weeks… then promptly went back to bed and slept until 10 a.m. I could get used to this life.

A little later I strolled around the ship and enjoyed that wonderful sea breeze blowing through my hair.

We are about halfway to Cuba as I write this, so far logging 341 nautical miles. We move through the water between 19 – 20 knots and will make port in Nassau on Wednesday morning.

Met more interesting people at lunch today, a couple from Vancouver and a another couple from Houston. So far most of the people I have met will be taking the ship all the way to Singapore and then travel on to places like China and Thailand.

I love listening to people talk but it is a stretch for this hermit to be conversational, I surprise myself every now and again though. Am I the only person on this earth to find socializing an effort?

  1. As a hermit, I share your angst. But halfway to Cuba sounds like a great place to be. It looks lovely. Where is your friend?
