U. S. Economy - Time for a Different Approach

I don't know about you but I am growing weary of finger pointing and politic playing. Until, as someone suggested, the "grown-ups" move to the big dining table our battered and bruised country may actually experience a economic free-fall.

The scientific community each and every day tackles real and enormous problems. And while they may have differing views for solutions to various problems they follow a 'process' as they endeavor to construct a solution. They don't bully, they don't name-call and they don't pick up their toys and storm out of the room.

"Truth is sought for its own sake. And those who are engaged upon the quest for anything for its own sake are not interested in other things. Finding the truth is difficult, and the road to it is rough." ~Alhazen (Ibn Al-Haytham 965-c.1040)

Allow me some leeway here as I make a substitution of words to make a point: The scientific method is the process by which 'knowledgeable persons', collectively and over time, endeavor to construct an accurate (that is reliable, consistent and non-arbitrary) representation of the world.

The explanation of the scientific method goes on to say: "Recognizing that personal and cultural belief's to influence both our perceptions and our interpretations of natural phenomena, we aim through the use of stand procedures and criteria to minimize those influences when developing a theory.  In summary, the scientific method attempts to minimize the influence of bias or prejudice in the experimenter when testing an hypothesis or a theory."  Source Citation

While coming up with concrete solutions for the economy may be beyond the range of situations where the scientific method may be applied, the point I am attempting to make is that within the 'scientific method' lies a general guideline that would allow knowledgeable people to describe the 'phenomenon' of the economy and formulate a hypothesis, test through discussion and arrive at a conclusion, i.e. solution to the problem.

You get my point here, don't you? - Smart People not Politicians need to be brought in to work up a plan to get the U.S. Economy back on track. Put these people on a committee Mr. President and let the politicians to what they do best: "wagging their jaws and glad-handing".
